Installation Guide

Thank you for purchasing Velocity POS. Follow these simple steps to get started.

Prerequisites: Before you begin, please ensure you have the following:
  • A web hosting account (like cPanel) or a local server (XAMPP, WAMP).
  • Access to create a MySQL database and user.
  • Your purchase license key.
Create a Database

The script needs a MySQL database to store your inventory and sales data.

  1. Log in to your hosting control panel (e.g., cPanel).
  2. Find the "MySQL Databases" or similar tool.
  3. Under "Create New Database", enter a name like velocity_pos and click Create.
  4. Scroll down to "MySQL Users". Create a new user with a strong password.
  5. Finally, scroll to "Add User To Database". Select the user and database you just created, click "Add", and grant ALL PRIVILEGES on the next screen.
Important: Write down the Database Name, Database User, and Password. You will need them in Step 4.
Upload Script Files
  1. Open the "File Manager" in your control panel.
  2. Navigate to the public_html directory (or the folder where you want to install the script).
  3. Upload the velocity-pos.zip file you downloaded.
  4. Right-click on the uploaded zip file and select "Extract".
Run the Web Installer

Now, we'll run the guided setup script.

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the location where you extracted the files.
  2. Add /setup.php to the end of the URL. For example: https://yourdomain.com/setup.php
Enter Your Details

The setup page will ask for two things:

  1. License Key: Enter the unique purchase code you received.
  2. Database Details: Carefully enter the Database Name, User, and Password you created in Step 1.

Click "Complete Installation" and let the script set everything up for you.

Installation Complete!

Congratulations!

You should now see a success message. You can now log in and start using Velocity POS.

CRITICAL FINAL STEP: For security, you MUST delete the setup.php file from your server now. The system will not work until this file is removed.
